i went to melbourne and now i am back. i meant to take more photos, but i am not artistic enough or something.

i meant to write more of an entry about it, but i am lazy or something.

i've finally set up flickr so i can email photos to it, and have them posted directly here. we'll see what fun that brings.

sitting at the airport in melbourne, watching families cry and hug each other as grand parents departed for... wherever it is they come from, the blood drained out of my face. how can i leave my mum and my dog for a whole year? but now i'm back in sydney and i'm more determined than ever to go. to find indie clubs in cardiff. to watch football in leeds. to get out of my head in amsterdam, and again in barcelona.

it's not far away. and it's getting closer.

things that i have purchased lately

the best fucking sandwich i have ever tasted



not only was it a taste sensation, it was as big as my head. i have put a pen between the two different slices so you can get a comparison of how big it was. from this place near the maccas on pitt and park called the big bite on pitt. it seems to be sydney's worst kept secret. it's almost soup nazi-esque when you walk in. a hole in the wall of a nondescript arcade, the line is out the door when you get there. smart people call ahead. but the people behind the counter are lovely and have to wrap your sandwich in foil because it's so big. i recommend the roasted veggie sandwich.

new clothes



i bought two pairs of jeans and shirt today. i don't know if the shirt is long enough to be classed as a shirt dress. so maybe i'm still not cool. trying to decide whether i should buy some ankle boots to go with my new ensemble, or if i should be indie and wear chuck taylors.

stuff at smiggle

not pictured. but you know this was coming right? i got a new notebook and some more post-its for work. then cause i had filled my frequent shopper card thing, i got a free calculator. woohoo.

weezer's new album

..about three weeks ago. listening to it for the first time now. even though their new stuff sucks, i have this misguided loyalty to weezer because they were the first american power pop band i really got into. and if it wasn't for them i wouldn't have started listening to nada surf or death cab or pavement. anyway, it's alright.

things i haven't purchased

a new macbook! yeah i know. i almost did today when jb were having 10% off. but i decided that i will wait until it gets closer to me leaving.
