safari vs firefox

browsers are making me angry at the moment.

to make safari do what i want, i need to pay to use an add on program.

firefox does it for free but it crashes all the time.

if i type an entry in my blog in safari, unless i remember to instert html spaces in myself before i hit publish, it submits my entries with no paragraphs. then i can't edit this. the only way to fix it is to delete the entry and start again.

firefox crashes all the fucking time.

i tried camino but it's too ugly.

i almost enjoy coming to work because internet explorer is quite reliable these days. if the version we used at work had tabs, i would think about marrying it.

what is a girl to do about exploring the interwebs.

in other computer related news, the launch of the new mac book has made me happy. it is better than what i had planned on spec-ing one up to once i have the funds to purchase a new computer. and i will save a couple of hundred dollars. i am most excited.

my work are giving me a $300 myer voucher for each sunday i work. now it will only take me six sundays to get a mac book. i've already done two. i think, however, if i try to pay for my mac goodness with 6 gift vouchers, they will think i am a criminal. maybe i will ask work to wait and put it all on the one card.

fuck, speaking of work, i better actually do some

at the dial-a-view

i’m starting to day dream about living in the uk. i’ve pretty much decided that i would like to stay in cardiff. on the weekends i will explore the village my great grandmother was from. and i will buy a cheap bike and ride to work and around town each day.

i’ll go to london some weekends, and take trips up north to watch matthew gidley play football.

in other news i’ve lost 2.1kg in the last week. at the moment i’m losing on average just over a kilo each week. if i keep this up, i’m going to be a hot biatch in no time.

patterns

i haven't really felt like writing much lately.

my mum found a lump in her breast last week. she went for tests today and it's just a fatty mass, nothing dangerous.

i've never felt so relieved in all my life.

moves by just like a paper boat

i did my first ever fitness class last night. i don't know if you've noticed, but i'm all about the gym lately. i've been there on wednesday nights before and watched the body combat class, and i thought it looked like something i could do. so with the encouragement of my personal trainer, i rocked up to do a class last night.

one thing you should know about me, if you don't already, is that i am massively uncoordinated. i'm serious. i'm tall and chubby and clumsy. it's like the triad of anti co-ordination. but i gave it my best. i stuck with another fat girl at the back, and we giggled together when the barbie up the front's short shorts rode up so high that we could see what she had for breakfast.

the arm stuff i got under control. i was punching and upper cutting and pretending that i was a klingon warrior. but the kicks i SUCKED at. everyone was kicking with the left and i'd be with the right. and forget combinations. i just couldn't get my legs to do what my mind told them to.

i must've looked like the biggest spaz ever. but oh well. i made it through the whole class without passing out, and the instructor came and gave me a pat on the shoulder and said i did pretty well for my first class. it felt like hell throughout, but i think i'll go back next week.

on sunday i'm going to buy a mat so i can do pilates on tuesday. that looks like much less running and trauma.

then i was back at the gym at 6am this morning to see my trainer. she's this awesome little girl from mac fields who makes me do things i never thought i could. like lifting weights and 300 crunches. fuck me.

tonight i am going to bed early. and tomorrow i am going to erin's for fondue and vienetta! how exciting

lift

i was thinking last night that last year i would watch the biggest loser on tv while sitting on the couch eating pizza. this year when i watch it i'm at the gym sweating.

oh god i miss pizza. but it's worth it.

stop

my mum and i were sitting at a set of lights in down town liverpool yesterday. and we watched as a woman got hit by a car. it was horrible. traffic in the outside lane had stopped, so she started walking in between two cars. but she didn't look as she stepped out into the middle lane where cars were still in motion. she got hit by a blue falcon and went straight up in the air.

there must've been milk in one of her bags, and it was everywhere. all over the car and the ground. by the time we had moved through the intersection people were already helping her, so it was unnecessary for us to stay. i called triple 0, however.

we had spent the morning driving to auburn so i could get a new pair of kicks at the nike factory. we saw so many idiots driving on parramatta and woodville roads. like a girl shaking maracas in her hand as she cut people in two different lanes of traffic off.

but those people are fine. and the lady who got hit by a car on bathurst street is probably still in hospital.

are you lightning?

so today i left home early to swing by jb hifi before work and see if they had the new nada surf lp. i was pretty sure that they wouldn't have it in yet. when the weight is a gift came out, they didn't get it in until about a month after it was released here. this is why i went to jb in the morning, so if i didn't get it there i'd know to be able to walk over to red eye during lunch.

i checked the shelf and there was nothing, the one copy of karmic they had was gone too. i went over to the counter to ask if they had it in and just hadn't put it out yet [seeing as they had only been open for five minutes at that point]. this was my mistake.

the guy who must've been the head of the music department came over and bought me to their computer. and then the lecture began. in his 20 years in the industry he's never heard of an australian cd being released on a tuesday. i shouldn't just read websites that say worldwide release on a certain day because we're ahead of america. and because there's no australian release for this album, we'd have to wait another week til they got an american release.

i just nodded. too lazy and too late for work by this point to argue that the barsuk website had specifically mentioned that the australian release would co-inside with the european release. and that the north american release was later.

i got to work and called red eye records. he was so quick to answer my question with "it's being delivered today" that he didn't have to look it up, which i took as a good sign.

lunch time came, and after dealing with a pesky connect outstanding i moseyed over to king street . i scanned the new release section and found chris walla's album, but no nada surfers. oh well, i thought. i'll wait til tomorrow.

i went to the counter to pay for field manual, and asked about lucky. the lovely little emo girl said that it was probably out back. she went away for a moment and came back with nada surf's fifth long player in hand. i just about squee'd out loud.

i really felt like taking the cd over to jb hifi and telling him to stick his worldwide release date up his ass. it wasn't the fact that they didn't have the cd, it was the patronising lecture i got. just because i was wearing a suit and i work in telecommunications doesn't mean i don't know anything about the record industry.

shit like this is the reason why i want to open my own record store, and it makes me more determined to. i want a place for people like me to buy rad music that is hard to find in franchised store.

anyway, typing this out and talking to peeps about my job issues [which is a whole other entry] has taken the whole cd, and half of the bonus disc to complete. i think it's time for bed

marieke hardy is still a cunt

every single day since australia day, someone has found this blog by searching for "marieke hardy". i guess that the rest of the sentence her name is featured in, which calls her a cunt makes people curious to find out why she is a see you next tuesday. unfortunately it was just the title i used for an unrelated entry about the hottest 100.

however, she is a smug little cunt. if you've seen her website you will agree with me. there's jpg artifacts on her title picture for fucks sake. and she was responsible for the television abortion known as last man standing.

you know, i can't help but wonder if it is riekesy herself doing the googling.
