my favourite band in the whole galaxy, nada surf have announced that their fifth long player, lucky, will be released in early february next year.
they've put up one of the new tracks on their myspace. it's beautiful. new nada surf songs make me happy. this is a given, however it took me a while to warm to the weight is a gift.
but this track on myspace, called see these bones, has captured me. i've listened to it non stop for the last half an hour. it's so intelligent, and different to anything they've done before, and just lovely.
i can't wait to find out if the rest of the album is just as good.

Listening to it now!
For me, I got into them when I first heard The Weight Is a Gift, and have only recently been working my way back. Fuck, I love The Proximity Effect. Dispossession especially.
the proximity effect is the album that started it all for me. the last half of the proximity. starting with bacardi and on to spooky [back in those days i had the elektra copy which doesn't have silent fighting at the end] is just the best to listen to at 3am with headphones on. i'm so happy that you're enjoying my favourite music
