after hearing ed and tony talk about it forever, i downloaded, and today watched shortbus.

i get why ed and tone take the piss out of it. it's basically porn disguised as an arty cinematic release. what i don't get is why so many people are fanboing over this movie. it doesn't push any boundaries. "ZOMG THE SEX SCENES ARE REAL!!1! *orgasm*" but zomg, the story line is boring. it's not confronting. it doesn't make you think. i saw bra boys with a friend last week. when we left the cinema, we spent the next hour discussing what we had just seen and the stories of the characters. the only thing this film compelled me to do after it finished was check imdb to see if that really was the chick from le tigre [and it was].

people put too much stock in sex. i don't get why it's such an issue with some people. not an issue as in they can't talk about it, but issue as in that's all they seem to think about. every thing comes back to sex. like they don't have enough dimensions so that every thing they do, every move they make, deep down maybe even on a sub-conscious level, is powered by their sex drive.

by the way, bra boys was good. badly edited yes, but the essence of the story was terrific.
